The Au Pair USA Local Coordinator for the Boston MetroNorth suburbs and parts of New Hampshire is
Mary Ann Armstrong
I’m Mary Ann Armstrong, the Local Coordinator for the InterExchange Au Pair USA program in the Boston area. My cluster includes points west and north of the city, including Andover, Cambridge, Lowell, Salem and Portsmouth, MA, and Nashua, NH. I have been a Local Coordinator with Au Pair USA since 1991, but our family has a long history with cultural exchange. My children participated in cultural exchange programs in France and Ireland while in school, and we found that to be a very rewarding experience for our family.
As a Local Coordinator I’ve always worked closely with my host families and au pairs to make the program rewarding for everyone involved. I’ve found that host families with several young children at home really get the most out of the program because they can save the most! Hosting an au pair costs about $340 per month, which includes childcare for your entire family, not just one child. Families often stay with the program for several years, and their children get to grow up appreciating the cultural differences between themselves and their au pairs from around the world. It’s really an amazing program!
I’d be happy to speak with you at any time if you’d like to know more about how your family could host your own au pair. It could be one of the best experiences of your lives! Au pairs provide a flexible, affordable alternative to nannies and daycare centers and you really get to know each other.
Please don’t hesitate to e-mail me if you have any questions about hosting an au pair in the Boston area. If you’re ready to apply, we also offer a 10-minute online application for host families.
Wishing you all the best,
Mary Ann
