Welcome to our Brooklyn Cluster! My name is Joanna Lehmann and I am the Local Coordinator for Brooklyn, New York. I have been working with InterExchange since 2006—first in the   New York office as the Orientation Manager, where I had the pleasure of welcoming thousands of au pairs to the United States and assisting host families with their year—and now out in the field as a Local Coordinator.

I greatly value cultural exchange and the positive impact it has on all those involved. I have spent many years myself working and traveling throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. During this time, I have also worked as an au pair—twice in Italy and once in Egypt.

Hosting an au pair is an amazing way to expose your children to new cultures and languages. An au pair will provide you with a dependable, flexible form of child care and your children a responsible caregiver and role model. You will find that even after the year is over your au pair will always remain a cherished member of your extended family. Hosting an au pair also provides you with an extremely affordable child care option at only $340 per week, with no additional per-child fees.
