The Au Pair USA Local Coordinator for the Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport and Waterbury area is:
Valerie Le Cann Jones
Hello and welcome to InterExchange Au Pair USA! My name is Valerie Le Cann Jones, and I am the Local Coordinator in central Connecticut. My cluster of local host families and au pairs includes communities near Hartford, Bridgeport, Fairfield, Farmington, Hamden, New Haven, New Britain, Mystic and Waterbury.
All InterExchange au pairs are pre-screened and interviewed before arriving to the U.S. Once they arrive they go through a comprehensive training program where they learn CPR, First Aid and child development. This training builds nicely on the child care experience they have already had in their own country. InterExchange Au Pair USA sponsors each au pair’s J-1 Visa which allows the au pair to legally work in the U.S. for 12 months. The au pair program can be extended for up to 24 months. Once you join our program, I will guide you throughout the process of selecting and welcoming your au pair!
The Au Pair USA program has many host parents who rejoin year after year because of the great au pairs we can provide. Parents know that an au pair can give them more scheduling flexibility than a nanny or babysitter. At an average of $340 per week, it’s also one of the most affordable live-in child care options out there. We hope you’ll become one of our host families, and will be hosting au pairs for years to come! If you are still considering whether au pairs are the right option for you, click here to compare the benefits of au pairs to nannies and day care providers. Please contact us by completing our online request form and your Local Coordinator will be in touch to answer your questions. We also offer a quick 10-minute online application for new or reapplying host families.
