Flavia Arsenault
Greetings! My name is Flavia Arsenault and I’m the Au Pair USA Local Coordinator for the Portland and Southwest Washington area.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I’ve been a Local Coordinator with InterExchange Au Pair USA since 2008 and have loved getting to know the host families and au pairs here in the Portland/Vancouver area. It’s a fun job for me because I like working with host families and au pairs. I grew up around foreign exchange students and I spent a year living abroad in France, so as you can imagine, I love learning about other cultures. I do my best to make sure all the host families and au pairs in my cluster area are happy together, and feel like they’re part of the Au Pair USA family!
The host families I work with enjoy having an au pair for the flexible hours the program provides as well as the unique exposure their children have to other cultures and languages. Many children are so influenced by having an international au pair, they get excited about studying and speaking new languages! Hosting an au pair not only provides a unique educational experience, but it can also be a way for your family to save money on child care costs. At an average of $340 per week, au pairs can be a more affordable alternative to live-in nannies or day care centers.
If you are considering hosting an au pair or want to learn more about it, I hope you’ll email me. I’d be pleased to tell you more about the program and answer any questions you might have. When you’re ready to apply, you can sign up using our easy online 10-minute host family application.
Sincerely,
Flavia
