Welcome to InterExchange Au Pair USA. My name is Joy Valente and I have been a Local Coordinator for InterExchange Au Pair USA since 1998. My territory includes the New York City suburban areas of Northern Westchester County, Putnam County, Dutchess County and Rockland County.

Hosting an au pair is such a fantastic way to expose your children to other cultures, lifestyles and languages. I am a single mom of three wonderful children and one of the main reasons I became a Local Coordinator is that I love working with families and children. I really believe in the goals of the Au Pair USA program. I like that we’re providing an international exchange of cultures and languages one family at a time. I like that we’re giving busy parents a more flexible way to schedule and manage child care. And I really like being able to provide families with a way to make live-in child care accessible and affordable! At an average of $340 per week, with no per-child fees, families can save money without sacrificing quality care.

My job as Local Coordinator is to work with your family to make sure all your questions are answered. With au pairs coming from more than 40 countries, it’s my goal to make sure you and your au pair are both enjoying the cultural exchange experience to its fullest! I collaborate with you and the main office in New York City to help you find the right au pair for your family. Then, we’re always there with any follow-up support you need throughout your program year.
