Au Pair USA Extension Program

The Au Pair USA Extension Program is a great way to enjoy additional time with your existing au pair!  Not only will your children will enjoy the consistent care and attention they've become accustomed to, but you’ll also have the peace of mind that comes from having an established, trusted relationship with your au pair. 

Program details

  • An au pair can extend one time for 6, 9 or 12 additional months
  • Au pairs continue to receive the same weekly stipend of $195.75 for up to 45 hours of child care per week (max of 10 hours per day)
  • Au pairs receive vacation time as outlined in the Host Family Agreement
  • Au pairs continue to fulfill educational requirements and receive an educational stipend from the host family

*Au pairs who wish to travel outside the U.S. should review rules & regulations for travel during an extension period.  We encourage you to call us for more information about this topic.

How to apply

If your family is interested in a extending your program, you will need to download the Extension Application and fill in the Host Family section. Your au pair will fill in the Au Pair section and submit proof of completion of educational requirements. We must receive the applications and educational documentation at least 40 days before the extension period will begin.
