J-1 Visa Sponsorship Program Requirements  Applicants must:
-
Be 18 years of age by June 1 of the summer of participation
-
Be university students, and under 28 years of age, if applying for support staff positions
-
Secure a position with a camp without the assistance of Camp USA
-
Be formally interviewed by the camp and negotiate the stipend and travel arrangements directly with the camp
-
Obtain a contract, written on camp stationery and signed by the camp director, including dates of employment, stipend, and position at camp
-
Pay all applicable fees, including the SEVIS fee, before the application is processed
-
Pay the U.S. Embassy's J-1 Visa processing fee as well as any fees involved with obtaining a police background check or medical report
Camps must:
- Register with InterExchange Camp USA
- Conduct a formal interview with each participant
- Negotiate stipend and travel arrangements with each participant
- Provide each participant with a camp contract
