Our Matching Process

InterExchange connects great international participants with the best camps in the USA. Our matching process helps ensure that we're finding international participants and American employers who are truly world-class!

How We Screen Applicants:

  • International cooperators review individual applications
  • They invite the most qualified candidates for an interview and orientation session
  • Applicants submit supporting documents, including
  • Two personal references
  • A cover letter
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Police background check
  • Medical history
  • Once we receive all the applicant's information, we begin the matching process

How We Screen Camps:

InterExchange only places participants at reputable, well-established camps in the USA. Before working with a camp, InterExchange representatives gather comprehensive information about the camp, its philosophy, and its staffing needs. We always follow up with a detailed call with the camp director, and often conduct a personal visit to the camp during the season. If you participate in the InterExchange Camp Staff Placement Program, you can rest assured that you'll be placed at an exceptional camp.

How We Match Participants and Camps

With our detailed understanding of each camp's needs, we find the best candidates for each camp job. When matching participants, we take a variety of things into account, including:

  • Dates of availability
  • Skills and experience
  • Personality
  • English ability
  • Maturity

Once we make a match, we'll the send the participant's full application to the appropriate camp. Each camp may review each application exclusively for five days. If the camp decides to hire an individual, we'll provide the participant with an InterExchange Camp USA placement offer and commitment letter.

Then, everyone gets ready for a great summer!

What Our Camp Directors Say:

“Our camp has been using InterExchange Camp USA now for several years. They have gone from being one of many agencies that I use, to providing almost exclusive coverage of my camping needs…I will stay with them for many years to come.”

~ Cedar Lodge

What Our Participants Say

"I want to thank you for making my trip a success and for being part of my experience. I have learned a lot at camp. I have learned to touch people's lives, I have learned to express myself and come out of my shell, and I have learned how to make a difference in people's lives. One camper's family thanked me for changing their grandson's life after camp and told me how happy and different he was after camp. That was when I realized that I have achieved something that I will never trade for anything in life."

~ Thabo from South Africa
