Need J-1 Visa Sponsorship? Go with InterExchange!
Whether you’re returning to a camp you've worked at before or have found a camp job on your own, InterExchange can sponsor your J-1 Visa if you’ve already been hired at a camp. We have decades of experience with J-1 Visa sponsorship, so rest assured that you’ll be working with experts. (Plus, we like to think we’re the friendliest organization around!)
Since you’ve already made the connection with your camp, you’ll work directly with them on most of the details, including your stipend, travel arrangements and arrival dates. We’ll make sure that you have all of the paperwork necessary to get your J-1 Visa.
Here’s how the process works:
- Obtain a letter, written on camp stationery and signed by the camp director, confirming the dates of your employment, stipend, and position at camp.
- Fill out and submit Direct Placement Application form and all supplemental forms including police background check, medical form, camp contract, and all fees.
- Attend an interview with your camp or camp representative in person. Camps must attest to the in-person interview.
- Once these steps are completed, we send a confirmation form to your camp director.
- Your camp director confirms placement with InterExchange.
- We print your DS-2019 form.
- We transfer your $35 SEVIS fee (included in the application fee) to the State Department. This process takes 3 days.
- We ship your DS-2019 form and SEVIS receipt to you by UPS. Once we've received your full application, additional forms, payment, and camp confirmation, you should receive your paperwork within three weeks.
- You make an interview appointment at your local U.S. embassy.
While you’re in the USA, InterExchange will always be available, 24-hours a day, if you need assistance or support. We may not have placed you in your camp job, but we still consider you part of the InterExchange family!
