What if There's a Problem?
In most cases, InterExchange participants are very happy with their camp jobs and have a safe, happy and fun summer. However, if you encounter problems while you’re in the U.S., InterExchange is always available to help you, 24-hours a day.
Problems on the Job
It always takes time to learn how to do a job well. If you’re uncomfortable during your first days at camp, don’t worry. As long as you try hard and have a good attitude, you’ll probably be fine. If you are very dissatisfied with your job or your camp, the first thing you should do is talk to your supervisor at the camp. Discuss your problems and concerns openly. It’s likely that you’ll be able to resolve your issues and continue to have a great summer.
If you decide to quit your job or are fired, let InterExchange know immediately. In most cases, you will need to return to your home country if you don’t complete your camp job. Sometimes, depending on the circumstances, we will try to find you a placement at a new camp. However, there is no guarantee that we will be able to match you with a new job.
Problems with your Health
If you fall ill or get injured on the job, seek medical attention immediately. Often, you will be able to receive the care you need right at your camp. But if you have a more serious health problem, find a doctor or hospital. InterExchange provides you with accident and sickness insurance, so most of your expenses should be covered if you need to seek medical care.
