Explanation of Costs

As a non-profit organization, InterExchange keeps its costs as low as possible. If applying through an intenational cooperator, you will pay your fees directly to our cooperator. Cooperator fees vary from country to country, but InterExchange only works with international cooperators who charge fair and affordable program fees. If applying through our New York office directly, you will pay your fees to InterExchange.

Fees and Costs of Participation Will Cover:

  • J-1 Visa sponsorship for the duration of your program
  • U.S. State Department-mandated accident and sickness insurance for your entire program and grace period
  • 24-hour support throughout your program
  • Your DS-2019 Form, if approved

For specific fee information, please complete our Info Request Form.

  • SEVIS Fee: $180 (payable to the Department of Homeland Security upon acceptance to the program)
  • Embassy/Consulate Fee: $160 (paid to the Embassy/Consulate)
  • Transportation to the USA

What is an International Cooperator?

International cooperators are independent agencies based in countries outside the USA that work with InterExchange to assist participants. If InterExchange works with an international cooperator in your home country, they will pre-screen you and assist you with completing and submitting your application to us.  Although you are not required to apply through a cooperator, they can offer you additional assistance in your native language throughout the application process.
