Applying and Interviewing with American Employers
When you find an opportunity that interests you, you should apply directly to the employer. If the company is interested in hiring you as an intern or trainee, they will conduct an interview, usually over the phone, but sometimes via webcam. J-1 Visa Sponsorship
After you receive a job offer, InterExchange can sponsor your J-1 Visa. You and your employer will both need to complete J-1 Visa application materials and submit them to the international cooperator in your home country or to InterExchange if there is no international cooperator in your home country. If your application is approved, you will need to schedule and attend a visa interview at the US Embassy or Consulate in your country. The process takes approximately 1 - 2 months from the time you submit your application until you arrive in the USA and begin working. Collecting your application materials will take some additional time, so to speed up the process, complete our J-1 Visa Sponsorship application before you start looking for a position. Then, once you have an internship, all you have to do is send us your complete application. Request an application.
