For Families
Your child deserves a loving, reliable, experienced caregiver. Your family deserves an affordable childcare solution. With Au Pair USA, you get both.
Our au pairs are live-in child care providers between the ages of 18 – 26 who come from more than 40 countries all over the world. For an extremely affordable rate, they provide up to 45 hours of care per week, making our program one of the most economical sources of high-quality child care.
Benefits of Au Pair USA Include:
- Comprehensive screening
- Custom matching by our staff (not a computer)
- Affordable payment plans
- Au pair orientation and training
- A flexible child care schedule
- Introduce your children to new cultures
The Au Pair’s Role in Your Family
Your au pair’s first responsibility will be caring for your children for up to 45 hours a week (up to 10 hours a day). You have the freedom to arrange a schedule that works for you. Your au pair’s duties can include:
- Providing up to 45 hours of child care per week
- Dropping off and picking up children from school or activities
- Helping with homework
- Assisting children with keeping their rooms clean
- Preparing meals for the children
- Doing the children’s laundry
Unlike nannies or babysitters, au pairs are more than employees—they become part of your extended family during their stay. In fact, when you participate in Au Pair USA, you are not considered an “employer” but rather a “host family.” As such, you should include your au pair in your family’s daily life and expose her or him to American culture. In return, you’ll be able to learn about your au pair’s country, culture and customs.
Host Family Responsibilities:
- Welcome the au pair as an extended member of your family
- Include the au pair in family meals, outings, holidays, and other events
- Provide your au pair with meals and a private room
