Teach English in Thailand

Program Details
During your first two weeks in Thailand, you’ll attend teacher training in the riverside village of Tha-kan, 75 miles north of Bangkok. This training period will provide you with the necessary English teaching theories, techniques and practice in an intercultural context. You will also learn basic Thai language skills and essential knowledge of Thai culture. Upon completion of the training, you’ll receive a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
After orientation and teacher training, you will start with your placement, which may be anywhere in Thailand. Most placements are close to larger cities, like Bangkok and most teaching positions are in private schools teaching children ages 8-16. You will teach for approximately 20-30 hours per week and will receive a monthly salary between 14,000 and 24,000 Thai Baht (about $400-680 USD).
As a Participant in Teach in Thailand, you’ll receive:
- Help obtaining visa/work permit
- Airport pickup upon arrival
- Comprehensive orientation week
- Services and support of field staff
- Guaranteed placement upon successful completion of the training program
- A TEFL certificate

Accommodation Type
During Training: Dormitory style; single-gender houses with 3 – 12 beds per room, shared bathroom facilities, and communal living areas.
During Teaching Placement: Independent accommodations or host family (our international cooperator will assist you with securing accommodation.) You must cover your own living expenses.
Participant Requirements
To teach English in Thailand, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a native English speaker
- Be a college graduate (any major)
- Possess professionalism, dedication, and a willingness to complete the training
