Working Abroad Grant
The Working Abroad grant is open to individuals who have been accepted to an InterExchange Working Abroad program (excluding Language Schools with no volunteer component, Work & Travel Australia and Work & Travel New Zealand programs). Applicants who demonstrate a high level of commitment to their chosen Working Abroad program are eligible for funding to help defray the cost of their program.
- Award amount: $1500
- Application Deadline: 8 weeks prior to program start date
- Recipients of the grant will receive their award once their arrival abroad has been confirmed by the International Partner Organization
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents
- Between the ages of 18 and 28
- Accepted to their Working Abroad program of choice and have paid all relevant program fees
- Willing to submit a written report upon completion of their program
How To Apply
To apply for a Working Abroad Grant, please submit the following:
- Completed and signed Working Abroad Grant Application
- Personal essay
- Supplemental Essay
- Two letters of recommendation from academic instructors and/or employers - signed and sealed
- Resume (1 page)
- Photocopy of valid U.S. passport or permanent resident card
Telephone interviews may be conducted as part of the selection process. Applicants must indicate their availability for contact.
