A. No. You must be a full-time student currently enrolled in a university outside the US or a recent graduate from a university outside the US(within the past 12 months).

A. You must be a full-time student currently enrolled in a university outside the US or a recent graduate from a university outside the US (within the past 12 months).
Q. Can I apply for more than 12 months?
A. No. The maximum amount of time for the International Student Internship program is 12 months; extensions are not possible beyond 12 months.
Q. Are there any restrictions to the field of my internship?
A. InterExchange is not able to accept applicants who are seeking internships in the medical field, as domestics, as flight attendants, as camp counselors, or as teachers.
Q. I am currently in the U.S. Can I apply?
A. No. Applicants must apply to the International Student Internship program from her/his home country. Regardless of the type of visa or visa waiver you may currently have in the U.S., applicants must return to their home country to apply to the International Student Internship program.
Q. Can I get paid by my host employer for my internship?
A. Yes. Self-arranged International Student Internship programs may be paid or unpaid. Any pay or benefits should be arranged between the intern and her/his host company. Internships arranged by InterExchange are unpaid.
Q. Can I get a second job as a Student Intern?
A. No. Under new J-1 Intern regulations released by the federal government July 19th, 2007, you are not permitted to hold a second job.
