Orientation and Training

As an InterExchange participant, you’ll be fully prepared for your time in the U.S. If we match you with a seasonal job, you’ll have the advantage of participating in two orientation sessions; a general session in your home country, and another, more detailed session when you arrive in the United States.  If you already have a position, and you’re participating in our Self-Placement program, you’ll attend one session in your home country prior to your arrival in the  U.S.

Orientation in Your Home Country

At this session, an InterExchange representative in your home country will provide you with information about the Work & Travel USA program, the types of positions available in the U.S., and the benefits of our program. We’ll also interview you to make sure that you are eligible for the program.

Orientation in the USA (Job Placement Participants only)

When you arrive in the United States, and before you travel to your job, you’ll participate in an orientation session in New York City. At the session, an InterExchange representative will provide you with valuable information about American culture—both in the workplace and in social settings. You’ll also receive important details about your legal documents and paperwork, as well as U.S. tax and employment laws.

InterExchange staff will also be happy to answer your questions, and provide you with emergency contact information in case you need our assistance at any time during your stay.

24-Hour Support & Assistance

As an InterExchange participant, you’ll enjoy 24-hour support from our New York City-based staff—from the time you arrive in the U.S. until the moment you depart.  Learn about all of the benefits of InterExchange Work & Travel USA.
