How Working Abroad Works

Interested in working abroad, but not sure how to find international jobs or volunteer programs? InterExchange Working Abroad can help connect you with the best opportunities all over the world. We will help you through the entire process—from choosing a program to understanding visa requirements to finding assistance during your program.

Au Pair Abroad

If you love children as much as you love the idea of living abroad, then an au pair program is for you. You will live with a host family overseas in exchange for providing child care. In addition to experiencing family life in another culture, you’ll also have free time to make friends, take classes and travel.

Teaching English Overseas

You don’t have to be a teacher to enjoy the experience of teaching English in another country. English teachers are in demand all over the world, making these some of the most popular overseas jobs for North Americans. Whether you’d like to teach in a traditional classroom setting or provide informal tutoring to a host family, there are many opportunities to explore.

Work & Travel Programs

Our Work & Travel programs + You = An amazing adventure abroad! Spend up to a year living abroad, making friends and traveling to places you might never have dreamed you’d see. We work with a variety of international cooperators who connect you with overseas jobs and provide in-country support.

International Volunteer Opportunities

Make a difference and see the world by volunteering abroad. International volunteering has never been more popular and we’re proud to offer a variety of programs that address the most important humanitarian issues—including environmental issues, wildlife conservation, public health, education and much more.
