Language Partner Program in Ecuador

With its array of stunning landscapes, indigenous cultures, rain forests and beautiful colonial architecture, Ecuador is not to be missed! This teach English in Ecuador program will allow you to gain true insight into the warm and hospitable culture of Ecuador and its people. Our program locations include Quito, Cuenca or the Galápagos Islands. You choose where you want to have an adventure of a lifetime!

Program Details

The language partner program is designed for native English speakers who wish to experience Ecuadorian culture and teach English to local organizations and companies. Placements are available in cultural exchange agencies, travel companies, import/export businesses, government and non-governmental organizations, and schools. In these settings, you will teach the staff in order to improve their conversational English skills. In the language partner role, you'll teach English in a company or organization for 15 hours per week.

This is a fun, high-energy and interactive position. You provide the personality and guidance to liven up an informal conversation class! Find out first-hand how Ecuadorians live and work day-to-day.  

As a Participant in Ecuador, You Will Receive:

  • Detailed orientation upon arrival and walking tour in Quito
  • Airport pickup service
  • Emergency help
  • Accommodations with a host family or volunteer house
  • Two meals per day with host family or volunteer house
  • Optional organized activities over the weekends
  • ISE card - International Student & Youth Exchange Identification Card

  • Between 4 – 12 weeks

Program Start Dates

  • Year-round

Program Fee

  • 4 weeks: Quito and Cuenca: $1,195
  • 4 weeks: Galápagos Islands: $2,095
  • Additional weeks: Quito and Cuenca – $195 per week; Galápagos Islands – $295

Accommodation Type

  • Host family or volunteer house

Participant Requirements

To work as a language partner, you must:

  • Be a native English speaker
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Be flexible and sociable
  • Demonstrate maturity and ability to work with groups
  • Meet the visa requirements for Ecuador
  • Fulfill all legal requirements as indicated in the full application packet
