Program Details
Volunteers in Ghana may participate in a wide variety of volunteer projects. When you apply to our program, you may indicate your preference in the type of work you wish to do. Once you’re accepted, we will work with you to find a placement that matches your interests, skills, and abilities. Currently, volunteer opportunities are available in:
- AIDS testing
- Community development
- Eco-tourism
- Education
- Non-governmental organization (NGO) work
- Orphanages
- Public health
As a Volunteer in Ghana, you receive:
- Placement in a volunteer project that matches your skills and interests
- Airport pick-up & transportation to project site
- 5-day orientation
- Housing with a carefully screened host family
- Meals with your host family (two meals on weekdays and three meals on weekends/holidays)

Participant Requirements
To Volunteer in Ghana, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a U.S., Canadian, or European Union Citizen
- Be covered by accident and sickness insurance
- Meet the Ghana Visa requirements
