Fund your service project and make a difference in the world

We provide up to $15,000 in grant funding to support motivated U.S. citizens, ages 18-28, committed to impactful service projects abroad. Fellows select a project or organization addressing an issue they care about and, with the support of the Christianson Fellowship, contribute their skills and passion for at least  six months on-site in another country.

This intercultural experience offers a meaningful way to help others, build valuable skills, and gain insight into another culture. If you are passionate about helping communities thrive and eager to learn about local cultures, apply by the next deadline: March 15, July 15, or October 15.

We support a wide range of project types, including community development, public health, legal advocacy, education, poverty alleviation, environmental conservation, microfinance, and human rights.

FAQs

What type of projects does the Christianson Fellowship support?

The Christianson Fellowship supports self-arranged and created service project experiences abroad. Your project should focus on an issue and a region of the world that you feel passionately about.

Your project should not involve paying a program or organization to set up your service. You can reach out directly to organizations to learn about volunteer opportunities, as many actively recruit volunteers and interns.

The Christianson Fellowship is intended to cover your living expenses while abroad and contributing to a service project. This includes housing, meals, and local transport. You may also include associated costs, such as transport to and from your project location, passport and visa costs, and travel medical insurance.

Please note: the Fellowship does not cover mid-service trips home.
