NYC - Only a Train Ride Away From Fairfield County, CT
Fairfield County, CT is a fabulous place to live as an au pair
Fairfield County, CT is a fabulous place to live as an au pair - in great part due to our proximity to New York City! It is so easy to hop on a train and go direct to Grand Central Station. Most of the au pairs in my cluster enjoy going to New York City during their time off. We have had many cluster meetings in New York as well. We have walked the High Line during the springtime, taken a tour of the United Nations, visited Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, gone ice skating at Rockefeller Center, attended Knicks and Yankee games and had picnics in Central Park. Mostly recently, we went to see the Broadway show Annie for only $41 a ticket!
There is always something fun and exciting to do in New York City. It is the city that never disappoints! I have had au pairs who have attended free concerts in Central Park, walked the Brooklyn Bridge and visited Little Italy and Chinatown. There are museums galore! The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA , the Guggenheim and the Museum of Natural History are a must see! And of course, NYC is the shopping mecca of the world! From high-end to bargain shopping, there is something for everyone.
As we approach holiday time, it is fun to walk around the city with a hot cup of coffee and look at all of the store windows decorated for the holidays. And of course, one must go see the tree at Rockefeller Center when it is decorated and all lit up!
I think all of the au pairs in my cluster agree that they are lucky to live so close to New York City and are happy to take advantage of all the city has to offer!
