Free Museum Fun for Seattle Families!
InterExchange au pairs and host families to find something new – on your own, or with kids & the whole family!
Near the start of the month many local museums and sites offer free entrance (day and/or evening hours) on the “First Thursday,” including MOHAI, Museum of Flight (eve only), Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Asian Art Museum, the Burke and more. Some also offer free Saturdays, and Bellevue Art Museum offers free 1st Fridays. Review the longer list here.
Those living in Seattle can apply for a Free Seattle Public Library Card, and then reserve museum passes weekly online, through this link. Options include those mentioned above, plus EMP (Experience Music Project), Seattle Aquarium, Henry Art Gallery (at UW), Wing Luke Museum and more!
Bank of America offers its card members free entrance at some partner museums the first FULL weekend every month (see schedule here) both in Seattle & Bellevue, and perhaps other places you would travel or visit.
Many local children’s museums offer reduced rate (or free) hours or days.
- Seattle Children’s Museum: Pay what you wish every weekday 4-5pm
- Everett’s Imagine Children’s Museum: FREE many 3rd Fridays 5:30-9pm and half-price every Thursday 3-5pm
- Bellevue’s Kid’s Quest Children’s Museum is $1 3rd Thursdays, 5-8pm
