The Year so Far for Our Hudson Valley Au Pairs

We are very fortunate in the Mid-Hudson Valley to be surrounded by so much history. There are many opportunities to combine our InterExchange Au Pair USA cluster meetings with interesting learning experiences. This summer we are going to enjoy taking an architectural cruise on the Hudson River.

Our year began with a planning luncheon at my home. It was decided that our February meeting would be a day of snow tubing at the Orange County Park. We certainly had plenty of snow!

Our next meeting we enjoyed an afternoon of live Irish music, step dancing and a bagpipe performance at Mahoney’s restaurant in Poughkeepsie.

In April, the au pairs took a trip to New York City to see Aladdin on Broadway.

For our May event, we spent a beautiful afternoon horseback riding in the Juckas Ranch in Pine Bush, NY. It was a first for many of the au pairs.

In June we decided to walk across the Hudson River Bridge and have a farewell picnic for Moa, our au pair from Sweden.

Au pairs also enjoyed an afternoon at the Roosevelt Home and Presidential Library in Hyde Park, NY.

We have some exciting things for the au pairs to do over the summer and we are all looking forward to doing it!
