Au Pairs and Host Families Spread Good Cheer Around Manhattan

Our Manhattan au pairs and host families got together to help an organization that brings nutritious meals to people living with serious illnesses. Everyone worked together to create some beautiful bags in which to deliver the meals, and took the time to share what they appreicate most about their au pair-host family match!
Au pairs and host families decorated bags for a great cause.
We made these bags for God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that aims to improve the health of people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other serious illnesses. The organization prepares nutritious meals to people who are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves, and provides them free of charge.
At this cluster meeting, au pairs, host parents, and host kids decorated bags in which to deliver these meals and brighten the day of the recipient. The group decorated the bags with winter-themed decorations and wrote holiday messages on the bags.

Au pairs shared what they like best about their host families.
This event was also a great time for au pairs and families to share the best part about being - or hosting! - an au pair. Take a look at what some attendees had to say!

Host kids shared what they love about their au pairs, too!
These sisters were eager to share their favorite thing about their au pair. Too many good things to just pick one!

Volunteering with God’s Love We Deliver was a great experience.
Kate Ferrin, our Participant Services Manager, enjoyed participating in this Host Family Day. It was a great time for her to reconnect with au pairs that she met at Orientation and Training, as well as meet some host families!

It was great to know that the bags that we worked to create would go toward bringing someone a meal, and that we were joining so many volunteers who have worked toward this cause.
