On Flag Day, InterExchange joined some of our NYC interns and trainees on a Manhattan Sunset Boat Cruise along with interns and trainees from the French and German Chambers of Commerce. We were able to soak in the sights of the beautiful city and network with professionals and other J-1 interns from all over the world! Representatives from the U.S. Department of State, the French Embassy and the Consulate General of Germany in New York were also in attendance.
The boat tour started in the west side of the island of Manhattan for a stunning view of midtown at sunset with the Empire State Building lit up in red, white, and blue. Then the tour continued down the Hudson River, treating us to a gorgeous view of the Financial District of New York City and the Freedom Tower. Finally, the boat cruised by the Statue of Liberty before heading back to its dock.
Guests enjoyed an evening of eating, drinking, and socializing with their J-1 peers, as well as networking, meeting new friends, and discussing their various experiences in the U.S. and NYC so far.
One of our participants, Felix Yates, said, “The boat cruise had stunning views of Manhattan as the sun set. It was also a great opportunity to meet other people from all over the world. I had a fantastic time!"
