On August 18th the Bridges Group of Door County held a cultural event for the J-1 students in the area—kayaking on Lake Michigan, in beautiful Ellison Bay, Wisconsin. Although it was a cloudy and chilly day, it did not stop over 90 exchange students from enjoying a paddle around the bay. It was the first time for most J-1 students to kayak and a memorable activity to experience during their stay in the U.S.! After getting some exercise and admiring the beautiful views, everyone got to enjoy a Mexican feast, served by the Bridges Group.

InterExchange participants who joined the activities were happy to get program t-shirts as souvenirs and posed for pictures with a bright InterExchange flag. This event provided all exchange students in the area with a unique opportunity to get together, experience American culture and hospitality; to play games and share with each other their experience living and working in the U.S.

This event is just one of many put on by The Bridges organization. Other events have included jet skiing, Segway rides, and kite flying. A talent show is upcoming. Thanks again to the entire Bridges Organization for a great time!
