Seeking Affordable and Flexible Professional Opportunities in Europe?

Looking for a professional experience abroad that won’t cost you thousands of dollars? InterExchange’s School Teaching Assistant programs in France, Italy, and Spain are an affordable way for young Americans who like working with students to gain professional experience abroad.

Professional development

Teaching Assistants volunteer at local schools for 15 hours per week, helping students with their conversational English skills. You’ll collaborate and receive guidance from a seasoned teacher, help plan lessons, and occasionally lead the class. Participants receive a formal evaluation midway through their program to help them grow and reflect.

No matter which profession you enter in the future, the ability to present information to an audience and to work with people from different backgrounds are desirable skill sets.

Homestay: An affordable way to connect with locals

One of the most authentic - and most affordable - ways to learn about another culture is through a homestay. Carefully screened host families provide a private bedroom and all your meals in exchange for just three to five hours of English tutoring per week.

If you want to improve your language skills or the opportunity to forge connections with locals, living with a host family is the way to go. You won’t see your host country as a tourist; you’ll be a part of the community!

Flexibility

Our school teaching assistant programs have multiple start-dates throughout the academic year, with durations from as little as four weeks to as long as 12 weeks. You decide the specific length that works best for you!

Participants’ school and home tutoring commitments total 20 hours per week, leaving plenty of time to explore your your host country, bond with your host family, and make new friends. InterExchange will connect you with other participants via our Facebook group so you can connect with travel buddies before, during, or after your program!
