Tanya’s Tips: The Super Bowl

February 5, 2024

Sunday, February 11th, 2024, is when the big game in the USA takes place! Two National Football League (NFL) teams—The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers—will face off at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas at 4:30 pm MST (UTC -7), competing for the glory and the trophy! It’s a pretty big deal.

Whether or not you’re a fan of the sport of the NFL, there is nothing quite like the energy and excitement that Americans have. It is insatiable. Between spectacular athletic performances, the acclaimed half-time show, and ground-breaking TV commercials, you are sure to enjoy the Super Bowl.

This will be Super Bowl 58 (LVIII), and like every other year, the National Anthem will be performed, this time around, by country music legend Reba McEntire. Also scheduled to join the pre-game entertainment are Post Malone and Andra Day. Tiësto will play tunes for the crowd this year as the in-game DJ.

The Halftime Show

During the Super Bowl, there are 4 quarters of play. During the halftime show, after the second quarter, R&B music legend Usher will entertain the world with a much-anticipated performance! The star has promised to have special guests join on stage, but has not revealed who!

The Insane Commercials

With millions of viewers tuning in each year, the Super Bowl provides an excellent opportunity for brands from all industries to feature their ads between the game. Some of the most viral TV commercials of all time have screened first at the Super Bowl. You can watch some of the best commercials from 2023 on YouTube.

Puppy Bowl XX

For those less interested in football, we completely understand and empathize. While we enjoy it, in truth, not everyone here at InterExchange is so excited about the big game. But one thing we can all agree on is puppies. At 2P ET/11A PT on Animal Planet, Discovery Network hosts this event with 100 of the most adorable puppies battling for the Lombarky trophy. This is all for a good cause, too, as all dogs from Team Ruff and Team Fluff are up for adoption.

There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy many aspects of American culture, whether it is the epic NFL showdown, the halftime show, or Puppy Bowl XX.
