When Ilir Zherka was growing up in the Bronx, hip hop and break dancing were his main interests. But as an Albanian refugee, there was something else that permeated his family and community: political activism and civic duty.
While he’s not break dancing as much as he used to, Ilir’s early experiences with activism inspired him to embark on his political and nonprofit career.
