Cheering on the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in Cape Cod

1 minute

On July 22, almost thirty InterExchange participants streamed into McKeon Park to watch the Hyannis Harbor Hawks square off against the Wareham Gatemen in a Cape Cod Baseball League game. The students were greeted by baseball players, baseball fans and, interestingly enough, Santa Claus! The Hawks were celebrating Christmas in July and handed out gift bags to attendees.

It was a beautiful night for baseball. Most of the participants had never been to a baseball game before, so InterExchange handed out sheets that explained the basics of the game, along with a voucher for a free hot dog and soda. What's more American than eating a hot dog at a baseball game?

When it was all said and done, the Hawks had won 7-0 and the sun had set on a delightful evening. Thanks to the Harbor Hawks for hosting us — we'll see you again next summer!
