Host Application Checklist
1. Start your application
- If you don’t already have an account, sign up here and we’ll create one for you. If you already have an account with us, you can login here
- Select “Invite Participant” through the “Training Plans” tab (upper right hand corner) to invite them to the application (if they didn’t already invite you)
- If you would like to invite other colleagues at your organization to join your account, use “Invite Colleague” from the “Contacts” tab
2. Complete the Training Plan forms
- Select the participant’s name under the “Training Plans” tab
- Complete Company Basics, Program Information, and Compensation
- Sign the Host Agreement
3. Upload your company’s documents
- A worker’s compensation certificate (or proof of exemption) is required
- If you did not provide a Dun & Bradstreet (DUNS) Number in the Company Basics section, upload a copy of your business license or registration
4. Write the DS-7002 Training Plan
- If the new participant will be completing a similar program as a prior participant, you can copy the previous training plan and edit it as necessary
- Use our Training Plan guide as you answer the phase questions
5. Sign the training plan
- Ask the day-to-day supervisor to sign the Training Plan phase(s) then send the Training Plan to the participant for review by clicking the blue “Send Training Plan to Participant” button
6. Pay application fee (if applicable)
- Program fees are charged to the participant but you are welcome to pay on behalf of your intern/trainee. Please review the refund schedule on our Costs page if you do decide to pay the program fees
7. Confirm application submission
- Check-in with the participant to confirm they’ve completed the participant application and submitted the application for review
- Your participant must complete their portion of the application, sign the Training Plan, pay the application fee, and officially submit the application before InterExchange will begin our review process
8. Application Review Process

Once we have a complete application, our review process is 10 days. Be on the lookout for emails from InterExchange during the process, including for:
- Host Onboarding Call: if you are a new supervisor with InterExchange, we will hold a 10-15 minute call to go over program requirements
- Application or Training Plan questions: the reviewer will reach out to you if there is any additional information or revisions needed to the DS-7002 Training Plan
- Site Visit (if required): if your company requires a site visit, we will reach out to schedule the visit at your convenience
- Remaining program fees payment (if applicable): program fees are charged to the participant but you are welcome to pay on behalf of your intern/trainee
9. Application Approved
- If we’re able to approve the application, we’ll send this decision to you and your participant via email. We will also issue the DS-2019 Form, which your participant will use to schedule their visa interview at the U.S. embassy
