What can you do when you're not tutoring?
When you’re not tutoring, Germany is yours to explore. Hike the vineyards above Stuttgart, get lost in Hamburg’s canal-lined streets, or spend a weekend soaking up Berlin’s arts scene. Prefer something low-key? Sample your way through Munich’s food markets for a true taste of local life. There’s always something to do — and somewhere new to discover.

This family are big believers in learning through play. Think nature walks, local theater, and English that sneaks in naturally, not from a textbook.

Common questions
Who can apply?
All English speakers from English language-dominant countries, ages 18+ can apply.
When should I apply?
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so timing is flexible. The most popular times of year coincide with the German academic calendar from September through June.
How long does matching take?
Typically, matching takes between 2 weeks – 2 months.
What type of visa do I need?
You’ll need to obtain a regular tourist visa. This is also why the number of tutoring hours are firmly capped. As a tourist, you cannot exceed the number of 15 volunteer tutor hours or get paid wages.
Do I need a TEFL/TESOL certification to participate?
No. You’ll volunteer under the guidance of a local team. You’ll have an orientation session and ESL crash course.
