1. Apply

Try to apply at least 3 months prior to your desired start date. For later submissions contact us. We'll review your application and reach out within a couple of business days to set up a video call and discuss the next steps.

2. Match with Host Families

Once we've sent your application abroad, you’ll have an opportunity to connect with potential host families over email and/or video chat to make sure that you're both happy with the match. You'll have access to interviewing tips to guide the conversation. It typically takes a few weeks to match with a host family. During the video chat, you can discuss the schedule and expectations. You can expect to provide up to 25 hours of childcare per week.

Once a match is confirmed, we’ll provide information on applying for your visa (long-term programs only), booking flights, purchasing insurance, and preparing to travel. We'll also send you some fun resources on life as an au pair in France.

Placements last between 2 and 12 months. Please note that short-term placements in France are limited in availability and typically only in the summer.

3. Experience France

Your host family will pick you up from the airport or train station. You'll have support from staff in France when you need it, and au pair training resources and more to help you along the way. You can also connect with other au pairs through our Facebook group. We highly recommend taking a French language classes during your program, a great way to meet other people!

After your program we remain available for assistance as needed. As an alumni you will have access to benefits like the InterExchange language partner program to continue improving your French!
