1. Sign up and get ready
You can arrive in New Zealand anytime throughout the year! Just complete our basic online enrollment at least 6 weeks before you'd like to start, and we'll walk you through getting your visa and flight. If you want to add the Welcome Week and hang out with a new group of fellow travelers upon arrival, check out the specific start dates for Auckland. If not, you can arrive any day.
2. Browse jobs and connect with employers
You will need to have a legal permit to work in New Zealand, and this is called a Working Holiday Visa. You can get this online (currently it's free for U.S. citizens) and if you have questions during the process we're here for you!
A few weeks before traveling you'll get a member log in to browse jobs online, and other pre-departure information. We can often line up an interview for you before you travel if you want to get the ball rolling! Once you're abroad you'll be able to sit down and speak with dedicated staff regarding your job and travel goals. Jobs include positions in hospitality, food and beverage, retail, manual labor, travel and tourism and more.
3. Travel and get paid
Meet new friends, get jobs, get paid, and travel whenever you want! Your Working Holiday Visa will allow you to travel and work around the country for up to a year.
Within a few days of your arrival in New Zealand you will attend an orientation session in Auckland or Christchurch, where you’ll learn more about finding work, travel, logistics, and more. If you sign up for the Welcome Week you'll also get to hang with new peeps checking out some of the must-see sites around Auckland and beyond. If you prefer the standard program, you can still join some free activities and meet new friends!
Throughout your time in New Zealand the friendly job staff in Auckland and Christchurch are available to speak with you about your goals and can connect you with employers for short-term work.
