U.S. banks are often regional, especially in small towns and rural areas, so you won’t necessarily find the same bank everywhere in the country.
Banks are usually open from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, but many are open on Saturdays for limited hours.
If you open an account in the U.S., try to find a bank with many locations, so you will be able to withdraw money and cash paychecks without incurring fees.
You can research branch locations and ATM locations by checking the bank’s website. Your host employer may also be able to suggest a convenient bank.
