What is it?
The J-2 Visa allows spouses and dependent children to live with you—the J-1 Visa holder—in the U.S. during your program. The J-2 Visa does not give work authorization. Any employment must be approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, adult children (21+), or married children cannot get a J-2 Visa. InterExchange does not sponsor J-2 Visas for Work & Travel USA, Camp USA, or Au Pair USA programs.

The U.S. Department of State issues the J-2 Visa through U.S. Embassies and Consulates.
