Benefits

Friends from around the world

Connect with other participants at your homestay or the program support offices in San José or Manuel Antonio. Social activities are offered each week.

Professional Development

Prepare with a teaching crash course and orientation. Gain insight into local social dynamics and support locals’ English learning at your project. In the process you’ll learn a lot about Costa Rica, and most likely even more about yourself!

Welcoming host family

You’ll have a key to come and go as you please, and breakfast and dinner provided each day. Rooms are shared, with the option of a private room upgrade.

Friendly, bilingual support staff

You’ll have access to the volunteer coordinating staff seven days a week to talk about any challenges, travel plans, or other logistics. The support centers offer free WiFi, coffee, or just a place to hang out or use as a meeting point.

Chance to improve your Spanish

Take two hours of group Spanish lessons each day at a small additional cost. Group sizes are kept intentionally small to maximize personal support.

Beautiful locations

You’ll either live near Manuel Antonio beach, where most teaching placements are in nearby Quepos, or in Costa Rica’s capital city of San José. Whether you prefer the action and moderate weather of the city or the sun and surf, you’ll feel right at home!
