InterExchange is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting affordable intercultural experiences that fall outside the traditional study abroad model. This includes a variety of work, volunteer, language immersion, and group travel programs. With more than 50 years of experience in international cultural exchange, we are ready to work with you and your students to find the best international experience for each of them.

Why consider an InterExchange program?

Professional Development

Improve language skills, gain independence, develop a global perspective and other resume-building skills.

Affordability

We strive to make our programs accessible to all young young adults from the U.S. and most of our program fees are under $900. Many programs include housing and meals, and some offer the opportunity to earn wages or a stipend, further offsetting travel costs.

Flexibility

Year-round start dates fit with most students’ academic schedules.

Variety

Program durations range between 1 week and 1 year with locations in 11 countries. Experiences include work, volunteer, language immersion, and group travel. Programs offer host family accommodation or more independent living options.

Support

Students will have comprehensive pre-departure support from InterExchange staff and from our partners while abroad. Our team will assist with visa information, host family matching, even down to what to pack. Students can connect with fellow participants before traveling and rely on local partners who are available 24/7 after they arrive.
